These machines are designed for installation where there is insufficient room over the hatch for an overhead machine. The Standard Basement Set Machine has a narrow steel outboard stand in order that the traction wheel may project into the hatch.

The O.D. machine is equipped with a deflector sheave mounted on the machine to eliminate the need for an additional sheave independently supported by the building structure.
